All about food

Woohoo!! It’s the weekend!! Aren’t you excited? I don’t know about you, but I was seriously looking forward to the weekend. It seems the closer we get to year-end, the busier the weeks become. I love staying busy, but it sure can drain you. What do you have planned this weekend? Anything fun? Share your plans in the comments! 🙂

I have some reading planned. SURPRISE!! Or not, because by now you’ve all realized that I’m a bookworm and read almost all the time. So this morning Baxter and I are enjoying the cool, crisp morning air with a cup of coffee and the last few chapters of The Bat by Jo Nesbø. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the Inspector Harry Hole novels. Nesbø’s writing style is so fluid and he really knows how to draw you in but make you work for the ending. I still haven’t figured out who really is the bad guy. I almost don’t want this book to end, but alas, I have two Library books due Monday so the ending is inevitable. Next up for the books due back to the Library on Monday is How to Eat a Cupcake by Meg Donohue and The Cake Therapist by Judith Fertig. I absolutely LOVE reading books about food, chefs, bakers, cookbooks, I mean I could go on and on about it. I just love food.

Which brings me to my all about food portion of the weekend. I’m going to be making a turkey meatloaf, not sure what style yet but thinking southwest. A friend of mine brought in some fresh veggies from his garden, so I have some jalapeños to use! I also have plans to go to a local bar/restaurant tonight to see my dear friend AJ Dinoto and his band JAWS play some classic rock. His band is always a blast to listen to and I can’t wait to kick back and have a drink and some food with friends. More to come on that outing and stay tuned for the turkey loaf results, I have a really good feeling about it! Mmmmm home cooked food! I might even have some sort of baked surprise up my sleeves for this weekend…. 😉 Until then, Happy Reading!
