I’m Back – Reading Update

Hey, heyyyy! I’m back! I never really intended to take such a long hiatus from posting, but I overloaded myself with tours and got burnt out. I’m ready to get back in the game, and have some fun ideas to test out here. I hope you’ve all been doing well, reading lots, and staying safe!

May, June, and July were very slow reading months for me. My social life picked up and I started a new job position at work. All fantastic things, but if you know me then you know I get kind of cranky when I don’t have time to read. I read 8 book in May, 3 in June, and 5 in July. I enjoyed the books I read and thankfully am still on track/ahead on my Goodreads Yearly Goal. I’m definitely looking forward to getting back to normal reading habits, and getting back to sharing my adventures with you!

This is the look I get when I laugh out loud at a funny part in a book.

I’ll be changing up how I was doing my blog posts, set schedule for fun content, and I will be participating in less blog tours, ARC reviews…. or so I say (we all know I can’t resist). I find that I tend to get a little over excited and load my schedule up with them. Then when I want to read the books I own, or reread a favorite, I don’t have the time. I also have an extremely large backlog of NetGalley books that I need to clean up. Yikes!! I’ll get there, and am very eager to read some of the books on that list.

What have I been reading recently? Great question! I actually just finished an amazing book over the weekend The Damned (The Beautiful #2) by Renee Ahdieh. It’s a YA Fantasy novel set in historic New Orleans about a young girl named Celine who travels from Paris, France to escape a terrible event and ends up meeting the town’s infamous and mysterious Sebastien St Germain. There are vampires, werewolves, fey, slow burn romance and lots of witty comments. Basically, it’s everything I love in a good fantasy story. The third book is set to release on December 7th and I am impatiently awaiting that date. 🙂

I’ve been letting my moods pick what I read, instead of preparing a set TBR list each month, and so far it’s working out better for me! I still pick a few books that I’d “like to get to”, but don’t pressure myself to read them. I am trying to knock out the rest of the prompts for the 2021 Read Harder Book Riot challenge, and found a few promising contenders. I’m also trying to finish reading a bunch of series I started but never completed, such as The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare/Outlander by Diana Gabaldon/Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, etc. I’ve got some great books lined up through the Kindle Unlimited service, so stayed tuned for some recs on there as K.U. actually has some amazing books to read!

Okie dokie, I’m sure I’ve chatted enough for now! I’ll be back soon with one of my new content ideas, so hopefully you’ll tune back in on Thursday. Stay safe, read some good books and take care friends!

Positive Vibes & Happy Reading!
